Mount Dickerman
(The Glacier Peak Area)

Though this is my favorite winter time hike for practicing snow
climbing, it is often in-accessible in winter and spring
because of closure of the Mountain Loop Highway at Deer Creek.
During summer months it's a very popular hike and in fall it's
blueberry heaven. You have to pay to get to those blueberries
though. The trail is steep with many switchbacks through deep
forest before breaking out into open meadows to the summit for
the last mile. The trail reaches a long ridge with a small bump
of a summit that offers excellent views of near-by peaks such
as mount Forgotten, Twin Peaks, Devil's Peak and Devil's Thumb,
Vesper and Sperry, and that big snowcone Glacier Peak.

Driving Directions:
Drive the Mountain loop Highway 16.6 miles past the Verlot

a very small parking area. You may also park along the other
side of the road.
